Roasting

Happy Birthday USA!

My friend Dj asked for more crock pot recipes. We live only miles apart, but have never met - yet, we know as much about each other as friends who see each other all the time. If you are short on friends or time to see the ones you have, make yourself some online friends!

Using the oven when it's this hot and muggy is not fun. I got up early to make cupcakes today for the kids and the frosting is already dripping off them.

Here's a bunch of different things you can do with a beef roast, cheap steak or stew meat in a crock pot (cook on low all day)..

  • Add a bag of baby carrots, an envelope of dry onion soup mix, two cans of cream of mushroom soup, a chopped onion, and two cans of whole or sliced potatoes (drained)
  • Add an envelope of dry onion soup mix and a can of cola
  • Add a package of taco seasoning, a can of diced tomatoes with chilies, and a 1/2 cup of water
  • Add a bag of baby carrots, a envelope of dry onion soup mix, a can of tomato sauce, and a 1/2 cup of water
  • Add two cans of cream of mushroom soup, an envelope of dry onion soup mix, a package of slice mushrooms, and a 1/2 cup of apple juice
  • Add two cans of cream of mushroom soup, an envelope of dry onion soup mix, a package of slice mushrooms, a chopped onion, a tsp. of minced garlic in olive oil, and a cup of sour cream or a brick of cream cheese (during the last hour of cooking)
  • Add 2 cans of beef broth and break apart the roast before serving on buns -  use reserved liquid for dipping
  • Add shredded carrots, sweet and sour sauce, and 4 cups of cooked rice (during the last hour of cooking)
  • Add a bottle of BBQ sauce

Disclaimer: I do not own these recipes. I cook from memory and often adapt things I've seen, tasted, heard about, or read about.

  1. Awww, Paula! I'm honored to be mentioned in your blog. Looking forward to more crockpot recipes. Love being able to come home and not think about cooking dinner at the end of the day.
